Sienna's story:

Using strength training to build resilience

Sienna was diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy when she was just 3 years old.

This meant that she experienced tightness through her muscles and struggled to walk without losing her balance, as well as struggling with everyday activities that many of us take for granted.

Following her diagnosis, Sienna’s family did lots of research into her condition to better understand how they could help her. They started working with SDR Rehab UK and Sienna began strength and conditioning.

“If Sienna has a challenge, she doesn’t let anything hold her back.”

Since then, Sienna has overcome huge hurdles with her strength, balance and mobility, through pure drive and resilience.

She now works with accredited strength and conditioning coach, Liam Capener-Jones, to continue to build her strength and balance, to make everyday tasks more accessible and to further increase her independence.
